Parent groups are often organised to discuss issues related to children’s school, family and social life, as well as their interaction with adults or peers. The aim of these schools is to support parents so that they can successfully fulfil their complex and difficult role in today’s socio-economic circumstances.
Through discussion with external partners (mental health counsellors and psychologists), the parenting school makes it easier for us to accept our problems and enlighten us as to the form of our relationships with our children.
During the parenting schools, the topic under discussion is presented and analysed, while at the same time there is a dialogue and exchange of views and experiences of the participants.
The topics of discussion are varied and briefly cover issues related to school life, family life and the social life of children and adolescents. This gives adults involved in the education of children (parents and teachers) the opportunity to understand children outside their role and to realise that they are individuals who think, process stimuli and try to understand the world.
